Transform Your Plate with these Healthy Food Swaps

Healthy Yogurt Food Swap

When you’re trying to eat healthier, sometimes all it takes is a little transformation of what’s already on your plate! Smarter food swaps and substitutions can help you feel better (mentally and physically) and aid you with your weight management goals.

Try these Food Swaps for a Cleaner and Leaner Plate

  • Olive or Canola Oil vs Butter – Not all fats are bad fats! Instead of opting for food choices rich with saturated fats, try those with more unsaturated fats instead. Olive and canola oil are great examples!
  • Greek Yogurt vs Regular Yogurt – While yogurt is generally a healthy choice, Greek yogurt offers more protein than its counterparts. Try sweetening it with fresh fruit for an added kick!
  • Whole Fruit vs Fruit Juice – Store-bought fruit juice is typically loaded with added calories and sugar. If you’re striving for your daily fruit recommendations, opt for fresh, whole fruit instead.
  • Raw Spinach vs Iceberg Lettuce – Typically, iceberg lettuce is stripped of flavor and lacks many essential vitamins and nutrients that you can get from other greens. Raw spinach, on the other hand, is packed with fiber, iron and important vitamins!
  • English Muffins vs Bagels – Whole grain English muffins are lower in calories than a bagel, especially when you omit the cream cheese! Instead, opt for fresh fruit jam or peanut butter.
